“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth’; and it was so.”
— Genesis 1:11 (NKJV)
In the ruins of Masada near the Dead Sea was found a single seed buried for more than two thousand years by the scientists. They planted it in fertile soil under the right conditions, it sprouted into a living date palm. The seed was nicknamed, "Methuselah". What seemed lifeless only needed the right environment to reveal the life hidden within it.
On the third day of creation, God called the earth to become productive. God did not drop food from heaven; He commanded the hidden seed to grow from within the earth itself. God created not only harvest, but a process. Remember, the Spirit had already prepped the earth soil for fertility. He embedded potential inside creation and ordained that increase would come through planting, nurturing, patience, and time. This principle remains true in our lives. God has placed seeds within you (gifts, skills, callings, ideas, and abilities) but those seeds require fertile soil to grow.
Character, discipline, humility, learning, obedience, and perseverance are your skills that form the soil in which destiny flourishes. What differentiates two planters with same seed and of same quality would be their skills. A seed with poor skill or in poor soil may die; a seed with good skills in good soil multiplies. Therefore, ground yourself in fertile places: the Word of God, prayer, integrity, diligence, and wise relationships.
Plant seeds of ambition through godly skills: honesty, effort, excellence, study, and faith. Water them with consistency and trust. Pull out the weeds of laziness, fear, distraction, and compromise. Over time, growth will come: not by force, but by divine design. Abundance is not accidental; it is cultivated. Fruitfulness is not random; it is intentional. What you plant today determines what you harvest tomorrow. God has already placed the seed. Your responsibility is to steward the soil. So plant well. Tend faithfully. Wait patiently. And watch abundance flourish around you.
Today’s Recite:
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” — Genesis 8:22 (NKJV)
Today’s Morning Prayers:
Father, thank You for placing seeds of purpose, skill, and calling within me. Help me to cultivate good soil in my heart and in my life. Teach me diligence, patience, and faithfulness. Remove every hindrance to growth and establish my roots deeply in You. Let my labour bear fruit in due season and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
