January 4: GOOD NEWS IS COMING

GOOD NEWS IS COMING

“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25 (KJV)

In 2010, thirty-three miners were trapped more than 2,000 feet underground in the San José mine in Chile after a massive collapse. For seventeen days, their families had no word whether they were alive or dead. Hope was fading. Then, on the seventeenth day, a drill bit brought up a note tied to it, written in red ink: “Estamos bien en el refugio los 33” — “We are well in the shelter, all 33.” That single message transformed despair into joy, mourning into hope, and waiting into expectation fulfilled. Good news came from a place that seemed unreachable.

As humans, we all aspire, plan, and set goals. We hope for progress, for change, for improvement. Hope is the expectation and desire that something good will yet happen. But waiting can be exhausting. When delays stretch on and answers seem distant, the heart becomes weary and tempted to lose hope.

Are you expecting better finances, career promotion or success, family peace, restoration, or spiritual growth? Do your circumstances speak gloom, delay, or disappointment? The Word of God speaks differently: “Surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:18). God is not slow concerning His promises. What He has spoken, He will perform.

Just as cold water refreshes a weary traveller in a dry land, so good news refreshes a weary soul. God knows the thirst of your heart, the weight of your waiting, and the burden of your prayers. He has not forgotten you. Heaven is not silent; it is preparing your answer. The timing is not denial. The delay is not abandonment. Good news is coming.

Therefore, hold fast to hope. Guard your heart from bitterness, despair, and murmuring. Continue to pray, to believe, and to trust. The God who sent good news to the miners’ families, to Hannah after barrenness, to Joseph after prison, and to Israel after captivity, is still the same today. He will yet send good news to you.

Today’s Recite:
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” - Psalms 30:5 (KJV)

Today’s Morning Prayers:
Father, I thank You because You are the God of hope and of good news. I bring my expectations before You — my finances, my career, my family, and my spiritual life. Strengthen my heart to wait without wavering. Deliver me from discouragement and unbelief. Let good news come to me from every direction according to Your promise. Refresh my soul with Your faithfulness, and let my expectation not be cut off. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
