JEHOVAH SEES

“Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, ‘Have I also here seen Him who sees me?’” - Genesis 16:13 (NKJV)

Hagar had opportunity to be a matriarch of faith, but envy ruined that chance. Instead of humility, she chose pride. Her unruly behaviour made her and her son to be sent out of the matrimonial home of Sarah. But in the midst of her error, God was still watching over her and her child, Ishmael. Our God is merciful – the God of second chance. God came to their rescue in the brink of death. Beloved, this is the comforting, powerful truth about God. Jehovah sees even when you have messed up. Hagar, alone and afraid in the desert, encountered God and named Him “You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees” after He spoke to her and provided for her. God’s gaze is not passive—nothing escapes it. “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). He observes every path we take: “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He ponders all his paths” (Proverbs 5:21). Jesus reminded us that God discerns the heart: “For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15). Yet God's seeing is active and redemptive. He scans the earth not to judge harshly, but to strengthen, rescue, and uphold those who trust Him. In danger, in hidden struggles, in moments when no one else notices—Jehovah sees you. Today, dealy beloved, live assured that you are never invisible to Him. He sees your faithfulness in secret, your cries in the night, your trust amid threats. His eyes are upon you for good, ready to show Himself mighty in your life. And to those who are sinful, God sees you as well. Repent. Accept his rescue when He stretches forth hands of redemption to you. Like Hagar, accept His rescue. Walk in peace. Act in integrity. Rest in His watchful care. Jehovah sees and because He sees, He acts.

Today’s Recite: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” — 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV)

Today’s Morning Prayers: Father, Jehovah Who Sees, thank You that Your eyes are upon me every moment, seeing my heart, my needs, my dangers. I receive grace to always do what is pleasing in Your sight. Keep watch over my paths today; ponder my ways and guide me in righteousness. Show Yourself strong on my behalf because my heart shall be loyal to You. Protect me from harm, deliver me in every trial, and let me feel Your seeing presence. May I live openly and boldly, knowing I am fully seen and fully loved by You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
