“Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.” - Psalm 65:1
Have you heard of George Müller? Well, whether yes or no, there is something unusual about the faith of this man you will have to learn from today. In 19th-century England, George Müller cared for thousands of orphans entirely by faith, never asking anyone for money. One cold morning, the tables were set for breakfast, but the food cupboards were empty: no bread, no milk, nothing! The children sat expectantly while George calmly bowed his head and thanked God for the food He was about to provide. As the “Amen” was spoken, there was a knock at the door. A local baker stood there, saying God had woken him up in the night to bake fresh bread for the orphans. Moments later, a milk cart broke down right outside; the driver, fearing the milk would spoil, donated every jug to the home. Breakfast arrived exactly when praise had gone ahead of need.
Beloved, this is the secret of heaven: praise waits for God. The word “waits” speaks of quiet, confident expectation: praise already positioned, ready to burst forth even before the answer appears. It is not forced; it is faith-filled. It rises from hearts that know their God is faithful. We are called to live this way continually:
Praise is a sacrifice because it often costs us our complaints, our doubts, our demand for immediate proof. Yet when we offer it, something shifts in the spiritual realm. Praise that waits in faith does not return empty. It prepares the way for deliverance, provision, breakthrough, and joy. It turns barren mornings into banquets, prisons into palaces of miracles, and ordinary lives into testimonies of God’s power.
Today, let praise wait in your heart before the need is met, before the healing comes, before the door opens, before the job offer, and before your new blessing. Thank Him in advance. Speak His goodness aloud, and watch heaven move on your behalf.
Today’s Recite:
“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” Hebrews 13:15
Today’s Morning Prayers:
Father, I thank You that praise waits for You in my heart today. Even before I see the answer, I offer the sacrifice of praise with my lips. I glorify You by faith, trusting Your perfect timing. Order my conversation aright and show me Your salvation in every situation. Let my expectant praise prepare the way for Your power and provision, just as it did for Your servants throughout the ages. I choose to praise You continually, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
